Hi all, has anyone converted the front cafe lounge in a Jayco Sterling to a normal lounge. I would like to keep the hot water system and water pump in the same place and build over and around them. Also can I remove the framework holding the three cafe lounges without compromising structural integrity. We just canāt get comfortable on the current system and need to change asap
Thanks

If you've got 3 seats (wrap around the table) that's a club lounge. I removed a club lounge from the front of an old millard & changed it to a cafe dinette.
The biggest problem with removing is, the frame work is stapled from the outsde before the cladding is put on.
You can end up with a bit of a mess where the staple pulls through. I was able to hide all these when I did the change.
Cheers Pete

Not to sure what layout you are intending to have, but one of the problems encountered maybe the wiring loom, with the club lounge that may come up through the floor into the lounges storage area, to take away the lounge may mean re-routing the loom, and that may be a big project.
Another thing to consider is the change in ball weight, if the lounge is in the front of the van. That storage area under the seats has gone, and the front of the van becomes a lot lighter.
We have what you maybe calling the café style set up, and it is in the front of the van.

Sound like you have the Club lounge. Can not help you re this or the Jayco van.
We have a Coromal and we removed the dreaded L shape lounge and replaced with tri fold out table and 2 swivel recliner chairs which we purchased from E.Bay.
Would never ever have a van with Cafe dinette, Club Lounge or L shape dinette again. To uncomfortable for relaxing.
When not on the road the chairs come in useful in our home den.
Best of luck in your re design. It will be a good move.

We prefer the L lounge as we remove the table and enjoy having all the extra open area in the van. Most times we like to eat outside!

Thanks, yes itās a Club Lounge.... sorry.
I guess the only way to fix this problem is to get a van builder on the job, or buy another van.
Cheers Len
