Just a quick question. The toilet has a plastic cover plate at the rear of the top bowl, where the seat is fixed down.
The seat is loose and moves and I would like to tighten it. The plastic cover is clipped in and I would like to know how to remove it without damage.
Good to on the Nomads forum as it provides a lot good info.
Thanks Bill and Diann.

Go to Thetford website ( www.thetford-europe.com/au/ ) and under the toilet tab enter your model and will bring up info on your toilet, including diagrams & U Tube videos.

If it has a small cover section approx 6 x 2 inch wide in between the seat at the rear, this section just pulls up. each side is held on the seat pivot pins, Just pop it up.You cant damage it. Hope this helps.

Gary thanks I removed the cover and put a stainless washer under the screws and really tightened them. Still a little movement but much better, I guess plastic on Porcelain does not allow for much grip. However, it is much tighter.
Thanks again. Bill.

The joy of replacing a toilet seat, Thetford or otherwise. Just did this two weeks ago. Had the toilet screws in place and was trying to get toilet lined up with screws. Knocked one screw loose and down it went into black water tank. I said most reproachable words. It was a 45 mike round trip to hardware store in Las Vegas, New Mexico. It was a lovely drive through the pine forest and did see two Wild Turkeys
Reef and Elaine

We did see a Mountain Lion on the same stretch of road last year. They are rather retiring but can be dangerous. Lots of Black Bears but they are usually shy as well. Lots of Deer and Elk around older sons place which is adjacent to Pecos Wilderness Area
