Has anyone ever traded in almost new off road tyres on standard highway rubber..? Recently up graded my old Ssangyong to a much newer Jeep. New rubber was installed to get the Vic RWC.. But they are offroad tractor tyres, a place I don't go, and they howl like fifty banshees from Hell on the highway.. Guess I could just hope they wear out fast.. haha

You can place an add on this site or join Gumtree and advertise there.

Gday...
I would suggest a visit to a couple of tyre dealers - Tyrepower, Beaurepaires, Bridgestone, Bob Jane etc.
I am sure they would offer you some trade-in value to get fitted with replacement highway pattern tyres.
In the reverse, but I have often taken my new 4X4 immediately after I had bought it to the local tyre dealer and traded the road-tyres for AT2's etc.
And as Kebbin says, have a gander at Gumtree etc for people selling their XX% worn off-road tyres. It just means you buy the road tyres you want and then take the 4x4 tyres home (in your trailer) and then offer them for sale.
May take a bit of time - but they will go - if they are a well-known 'branded' tyre.
cheers - John

Gday...
why?
You don't want them - you would prefer road-pattern tyres.
Rip into a tyre dealer and get a quote for the road tyres ya want (or they suggest) and then ask how much to trade these chunky monkeys?
If they are in good, re-saleable nick, they will offer you something ... from then on it is only negotiation - and praps another dealer or three.
Worst case, is you lash out and get the road tyres you want/need, and then take home the 4x4 chunky monkeys they take off, bung em on Gumtree for more than they offered as a trade-in.
As I said, if they are a 'brand-name' tyre with 50% or more tread/life they will definitely sell.
Thanks everyone.. Yeah I'm going to see what the tyre guys say.. The tyres are Bridgestone Dueller A/Ts.. some bush basher would love them.. They've still got the mould pimples on them.. If the dealers aren't a goer I'll take em home and flog them off on eBay.. Happy traveling.. Geoff.
