Our 2 year old Sphere 2.5 kg washing machine has a water filling problem after about 40 washers.
Can someone throw some light on this problem for me.
When filling the water flows in at a dribble, have checked the hoses from the tap to where the hose feeds to the washing machine, water is flowing at gental but good rate, the small plastic inline filter at the machine is clean and clear (have tested with out the plastic filter also).
After talking about the water filling slowly we think it has gradually gotten slower over the last couple of washers.
We are at present in Central Qld in and out of service and away from a major town.

Hi Radar
Have a look under the first plastic filter in the hole where the water supply attaches, you will need a very small screwdriver to help the second filter come out.

When your Sphere packs it in, go out and buy a Camec machine. Same size but far better. We had a Sphere in our other van and it packed it in after just over 2 years. We invested in a Camec machine and it h as been going strong for over a year. According to wash g machine repairers, the Sphere is not economically viable to repair when they do finally stop. We did a lot of research before we bought the Camec machine, which is far superior to the Sphere, from CaravanRVCamping on the Sunny Coast. Far better price than Camec, so it pays to shop around, which we did. Just a timely warning!

I have friends that have a washing machine in their caravans but only because they thought that resale value would be more than without (salesman talk)

Well.........................to wash our clothes!
Seen too many occasions where dogs beds and all sorts of stuff have been washed in park/public machines.

My van was built to how I wanted it and delivered back in Nov 2008. I have now been travelling for nine years and living full time in this van.
A washing machine (Lemair) was standard in the 'showroom model'. At the time of the order, August 2008, I made it a 'delete option' and the cost was deducted from the build/purchase price.
I got a call from the builder early Nov 2008 to tell me they had made a mistake and had installed the washing machine "because it was a standard item" and the bloke hadn't thoroughly checked the order sheet. I told them to take it out as I preferred to have the cupboard space than a "tiny little washing machine".
After of a couple of weeks of negotiating, I VERY reluctantly accepted the washing machine as installed as it would have delayed the van for a few months (because of the imminent Xmas break) with them removing the machine and remaking the cupboard due to the holes for hoses etc. They left the machine in at no cost to me so I just moved on with life.
Now nine years down the track I reckon it has been one of the better things that I have in the van. It has performed faultlessly - except for the pump failing about four years ago which I replaced.
I worked on farms for four to five months a year for four years and I used that machine EVERY night to wash my working clobber - at no cost to me because I didn't need to insert coins or wait in line for the machine in the van park/s.
I haven't needed to use van park's machines or a laundromat in all these nine years - musta saved heaps by now.
When I am camping off the grid I handwash using wool wash so it is not used then.
Would I have another one ... you betcha. I often smile to meself when I think I nearly did myself outta this machine.

I can honestly say that in the 20 odd years we have been travelling in vans, we have always had a washing machine of one sort or another. I have to say that it is much cheaper than the alternative of using a laundromat, and it keeps the wife happy too. Happy wife, happy life!
