Space in 1E for the teepee but not the car. If the bus was 2E, then I was in 4E. The combi with the pink trailer is with the bus. About 20 vans for each of the 2 nights I was there. There was a very small group of schoolies way out west. Never hear a sound but they were a long way away.

G'day Kath and Dave,
Yep I found that out cos I have arrived myself. I have propped on the west side of the ramp about three spots down. The big bus looked a bit too big to try and boss around. I won't set up properly just yet so if they head off I might try and slip across there then.
For those that know Greens Lake, the water level is down quite a bit from last two years. I can play sand castles cos there is heaps of sand in front of me.
OH! I have the Red Colorado

If you are having a go at me JeffRae I have never and will never ask anyone to move for me. It's not the done thing. If you read what I said, I will wait and see if they move on then more than likely will slip across there. They seem to be packed up as nothing is out at all. I actually said hello to him as he walked past but I said nothing about when are they moving on.
Sorry if you read it the wrong way.

Sounds as though it gets pretty busy. Have they finished the new dunnies? I read on Wikicamps that the biggest complaint about the site is the dirty and unserviced toilets ad well as a big mention of rubbish left by some of the campers. From what I have read on here over the last few years it becomes quite the social venue for Nomads at this time of the year. I can hear the beers opening and the wine sloshing into the glasses from here.

Went for a walk this arvo and who should I bump into?
THE CHIEF himself. Had a bit of a Pow Wow and a puff of the Peace Pipe.

JeffRae, there are a couple of trees here, one being the famous thong tree (who said that?) he could hang his cover from, near the water too.

It was good to see you both again too. And again not long ago as you were heading out to spend some money locally.
I decided to move a little closer to the ramp but still West side. I also decided to fully set up so out came the awning etc. Ahhhh! Nice and comfy.
Weekend worriers starting arriving around 2.00pm.

I have had a look on Wikicamps and there doesn't appear to have any pics of the new toilets so I assume that they are not built yet ??
The comments on Wikicamps with regard to the rubbish may be supported by this pic from the same file posted on the 6th of November.
I hope that the van adjacent to the "collection" is dropping off his glad bag and not actually camped there.
If he is he may need to read the current topic on Flies Mozzies and Midges.
No new toots yet Dicko. I would guess Goulbourne Murray Water will wait until the end of the busy season before they start the shiny new one.
There is 6 porta loos here. More arrived yesterday.
You will find some people go via the big bins on way out.

Thanks Doug,
I was wondering about the loos as there has been some talk about them for a while now.
I am not familiar with the layout of the camp but when someone posts a pic on the wiki page it is difficult for the casual reader to interpret actually what it is all about.
I thought that either the company responsible for collecting the rubbish sadly miscalculated the amount of big bins provided or the worse scenario is that they rubbish was just not collected.
In any case it would be labour intensive to pick all that up and throw it into the truck and I would be surprised if the person driving the collection compactor truck would actually complete that task as it is probably not part of his job description noting how things work these days.
Anyway to all the nomads out there...enjoy your stay and I hope the weather is kind.

Dicko, GMW provide the bins, two normally but about two weeks before xmas school hols they bring out a really big buiders skip as well. Normal weekends two work well and they get emptied every two weeks. Including the silly season.
That all said, GMW send out a truck and a big front end loader like thing (sorry for technical term) to squash rubbish in bins down then scoop up all other stuff into bins.
That Photo you posted was just after the Melbourne Cup so called 4 day week end. One of the busiest times at Greens and one I keep away from.

I don't blame ya' for avoiding that Cup Day long weekend...it certainly looks as though it gets busy by that pile.
We want to go to one of our favourite spots for a tad of off grid camping on the eyre peninsula but we need to carefully plan to avoid any school holiday period as it brings "em out of the woodwork. In fact we even avoid many caravan parks during that time as well.

All things considered, these are fantastic facilities/sites all available 'Free'....places like this are becoming a rare resource in Australia.....my grandkids love the place, and I know Doug appreciates as well, as the Unelected Mayor/Chief Pow Wow....
PS..if "they" could just remove the winds that blow sometimes..it would be perfect...

Also, where is Dave who normally resides at 2E?
