I did some tests this morning with the AC in my new caravan and my Honda EU20i generator, the generator won :)
With the AC switched off: van draw was 325W which I assume was the three-way fridge/freezer and the battery charger.
With the AC in "Fan only" mode and the fan at maximum speed the draw was 417W - this includes the 325W previously mentioned.
With the AC in "Cooling" mode the draw was 1585W (including the 325W).
The power factor was 0.97
The generator was in "Eco" mode and started and ran the AC without issue, I tested about ten "start" cycles of the AC.
In conclusion: the Honda EU20i runs the SR-19 air conditioner without any issues at all.

Might be worth reading the product information in the manual, bullet point D. the manufacturer recommends a generator rated at 2800w or greater and notes that losses to the product from generator use is not within the warranty scope. Houghton Leisure doesn't have an active website yet, I wonder if they are part of the Houghton Honda group, a very well known and respected generator dealer in the Adelaide area who really do know their stuff.
