Hi all. We've had our van over a year now, and camped off grid and in parks on 240v without any issues with power. 160W solar and 120ah battery. I can't work out what this switch. "Master Switch", actually does. On or off everything works, or appears to. The 3 way fridge is pretty weak on 12v when towing, but I understand that is normal, but I admit I have never turned this mystery switch on. We use 240v in parks, and gas for the fridge when bush camping. I'm now thinking it may be a switch for 12v to the fridge when traveling. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

At a guess I'd say it's a 240V isolation switch OR 12V isolation switch. Turn power off and take switch out and see if it's:
1 even connected
2 are they 240 wires OR 12V wires
That should be the start,,,,
then see where wires go (if you can obviously)

On our 2012 built caravan that switch cuts out 12 volt to the important bits, frig cotrol, stove and so forth but at the moment I have now placed tape over it so if I bump it again I don't have nightmares trying to find the electrical problem, one day I will get super game and remove the switch and all the other annoying wires in the boot area.
If it was not raining I would go out and take a picture to show and tell.
I believe it disconects the power from your 12 volt system.

Dave and Jezza. Just a thought have you made a a call to the manufacturer of the van or are they no longer in business. Landy.

What is your van? In the Jaycos the switch isolates the battery from the 12 V system. Your van may be the same. Disconnect the mains lead from the van, switch on a light or two and then operate the switch. If the lights go out then it is a battery isolation switch.

PeterD, switched it on/off.... no difference. All works. Not sure about the fridge on 12v tho. Waiting for a reply from Roma factory. Thinking it may have been disconnected when I had solar fitted.

If you have an inverter ? It isolates connected AC 240v from inverter AC. Generally . Different AC cannot be mixed unlike DC.
