We spent the last 12 months on the road. travelled 45000 Km`s; and I carried out 4 services on my 200 series.
Toyota have only done 2 services on my vehicle and each time I have been very disappointed. They have been very accomodating each time; but, I just can't throw good money at poor service. The faulty workmanship is disgusting, so I have been doing my own servicing for the last 170000 Km`s.
So, my thinking is; Could we establish a network of "Service Centres".
Use my garage, my tools (trolley Jacks, Jack stands, High Pressure Grease Guns, Rattle gun, Socket Sets, Screwdrivers, Compressed Air. Etc.)
Supply your own oil, filters etc, clean up after your service, have a chat/beer/tea/coffee etc: Job Done.
Just thinking. I'm in Mandurah. WA.
It would have to beat lying on your back in the dirt after dark.
I am not offering insurance cover, just a concrete garage, under cover, tools etc for use.
Comments please.
Regards.

It's a bit far to go for a service, Hetho! Even travelling across the "short cut" (the Great Central Road)! Just 5000kms each way!
Just joking!
If you're going to a dealer, know what has to be done & mark key bolts with a pencil & check the positions when they give you the car back.

Hi
In 2019 I did not think I would see anyone using that "joke" on a public forum ! I have a wife but she is not my property to loan or give to someone. Indeed she is not considered in anyway like a car or my tools.
It is about time some people get over this medieval thinking and we move to equality in thought and deed. Perhaps some people will have to die out to move on !

Just like Blaze, I will continue to make my own rules re "humour" . The person has not been born yet that could possibly change my sense of humour. Hey, by the way Blaze, some I have seen out there I wouldn't want to borrow anyway eh? :)

I agree Jaahn we should be careful not to upset the ladies but...
We are talking mainly to an audience that grew up with certain humour about certain topic that society has changed with over short periods of time. Such people grew up in the 1960's give or take and equality wasn't thought of. Jokes about our lady folk were the norm. It doesn't make it right but it was ok then and between then and now some people haven't moved with those times. Now its a case of walking on eggshells with political correctness so I see both sides of the story here.
I worked in security for many years. My colleague used to hug a 16yo girl as she entered our office to clean it. He was reported, an inquiry commenced and two weeks later he fronted the inquiry and the allegations. He admitted to his hugging action. Then they told him it was inappropriate and about to suspend him he blurted "by the way everyone, I'll hug my grand daughter anytime I like". Egg on face with the hierarchy. Such is the process now- all action no communication.
So I suggest to those making fun at your wife's expense , just try to leave them out of the jokes.
Hetho- I think if your "visitor" servicing his tug on your land has an accident, you'd be in trouble mate. Just saying.

Well Hetho, Very obliging of you. I too, do my services on the road on extended trips, And to get what you offer is fantastic.
I am self sufficient , and carry what i need. I usually plan where I'll be and it's worked out fine so far.
