Recently purchased an Empire Emperor and It has the above in it.
240volt works wonderfully.
Gas works on Max only thus freezing the fridge stuff. Neither Low or Medium work.
Please help.

Hi Joe,
Maybe as it is an older van the gas regulator may be a problem. Are the gas hobs /stove working properly. There are a lot of people out there who will have other suggestions as well.Enjoy your time in the van.

Welcome to the gang Joe, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I agree it 'could' be the regulator needs replacing and probably worth doing anyway and first up. If that doesn't solve the problem the gas burner or/and flu might need a clean out. Again, being possibly an older van, probably worth doing. Because you are mucking around with gas, it might be worth getting an expert to do the job/s.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Thanks for the replies.
Why do you think the regulator ? Because it works on Max just not the 2 lower settings.

It might be that the regulator struggles pushing gas through on fridge lower settings.

Ok thats cool.
This regulator is the one on the A Frame between the Gas Bottles ?
Are there different ratings etc or all the same ?

Should be the same.By getting a new reg you get a new diaphragm. The old one may not be flexible enough. Chase & do one up grade at a time and test till it's right...then you will know what fixed it.

Done & replaced.
When on Max you can hear the flame burning not so on Medium or Low. So took off cover and observed.
Flame is blue and does vary on settings.
Will see what 8 hours does on medium.
Thanks for the advice.

Have replaced the regulator and there is very little variance in the knob for temp control.
Either Full and freeze everything with about -2 to -3 degrees in fridge cabinet.
Or back off and no cooling with things climbing over hours to 14 degrees.
What to do next ?
Get a service ? or buy a 12 volt upright ? or buy a 240 volt version with a inverter ?
All feedback welcome. Cheers.

Have you cleaned (Brushed) out the flue if flame is variable to control knob settings there is definitely something wrong, you may need to remove from van to properly clean.
