I have a 1998 Mercedes sprinter that now when I plug the power in to charge the house battery i is not charging it. I have a volt meter that shows if it is being charged. I have just had the car battery under the hood replaced. Any ideas please...TIA

If you can't check the cells (Hydrometer or meter) - If easy to disconnect put a portable charger on the house battery to see if it accepts a charge (I suspect it won't).

Hi The volt meter shows 12.5, it was 12.6 is that what you mean. When I plug the power in it usually goes to 14.5 while charging, now not moving from 12.5 Does that mean the battery needs replacing?
Thank you

The 14.5V you saw was not the voltage of the battery, it was the voltage of the charger.
Sounds like the charger is not working. Does it actually have power to it?
Cheers,
Peter

This is under the driver seat....
Ok thanks, I will check that tomorrow. So is that a trip to an Auto electrician?
Thanks

Check around you, if there are other Nomads camped - If so sound them out - they may have some testing gear (most do) or enough experience to assist - worst case scenario you will have met a few more friends. Are you currently experiencing high heat?
