Hi just discovered that their is a portable 12v diesel heater for caravans. Has anyone used or know about these. It looks like a good space saving alternative. Thanks Stew

Stewart. Can you post a link or a picture of one. ?
Our Webasto is a "Hydronic" type. It heats glycol, not air.
That glycol is pumped through the HWS and through radiators to get both central heating and hot water.
The Webasto unit itself is under the floor.
It would be critical for a portable unit that ALL exhaust is outside otherwise there would be a serious risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Cheers,
Peter

A portable Diesel heater would be good for our camper , I would only need a 2.5kw the Sydney Diesel at about 1200$ looks like a neat package
The other one at 160$ seems cheap , dunno anyone had any experience with either ?

I agree we wouldn't use it much but would be handy if needed. Need more details and a review

Hi campers this a great way for heating, I have one 2.5kw in a 13ft poptop, very reliable no drama. I put it in under a seat its all good, have 5lt tank under the seat as well it does not use much fuel at all. runs on low setting and works real well its one of those cheap Chinese ones but at the price if it breaks down I am sure I can do something to fix it.My friend has a bus and after seeing my one he put a 5kw in it he is a big trip person and said it works all the time very happy too.very cheap to run use common sense you wont have any worries, these would be good in a work shop cheers be safe c/ya terry.
