We are putting our van in to storage for a few months ,I am asking what is the best way to store the cassette, give it a good clean with cassette cleaner and what next?Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I put silicone grease (not spray) on the seal once every 5 or 6 years.
Empty it after the last use, rinse and put it back. That is all. No need for complications or expensive 'potions'.
Cheers,
Peter

I use rubber grease on seals, wash cassette out and rinse with Nilodor in the water. Get rubber grease from bearing suppliers and nilodo from Coles.

I use Napisan/Boost when using the cassette
This leaves it very clean, after I empty and rinse it
For storage, (wearing throwaway type light plastic gloves), I put a bit of olive (cooking type) oil, on the seal
