Can anyone help please. My Thetford gas oven keeps going out after a couple of minutes. Any ideas why? Yes I have the gas tap turned on. No, I havent run out of gas. The cook top works perfectly well. Its just the oven and only intermittently.
Cheers

How old is the gas regulator on the bottles? I had a problem and had to adjust regulator flow as not enough gas getting through. I have a new regulator in waiting for if things like that happen again.
Keep Safe out there.

Hi Dougwe, the van is just 18 months old and still under warranty. We may have to go down that track, just annoying as we live in our van and was hoping it might be an easy fix.
thanks for the suggestion though.
cheers

My money is on the thermocouple. One of the three on my Thetford stove-top also failed after one year. In my many years in industry I have never known a thermocouple to fail, perhaps someone at Thetford had a "Brilliant Idea" of how they could save 10c in thermocouple manufacture.
The thermocouple is a small metal "rod" which sits directly in the flame and produces a tiny electrical current when heated, the presence of this current is used to open the gas valve, if the thermocouple has moved or failed the gas valve will close.
Therford oven thermocouples are available on E-bay for about A$30 - I am still trying to source stove-top thermocouples.

I am not at home base to find the information but our oven was causing a divorce, thermocouple was not sitting right, only out by a smiggen fart.
Like I think it needs to be just before the flame hole.
