Has anyone been on the darling river run lately ? Is the river still flowing and how are the roads ?

We spent several days on the Darling in the north west last week and it is flowing nicely. Constant procession of pelicans paddling past, families of ducks and up above, whistling kites making sure the rest all kept their heads down.
Nice and free of other campers which was a bonus

I think a super big part of the venture to me is heading down a road on a map, with that knowledge only. The road is on the Map.
My stress levels go up, my eyes are wide open, I am listening for any unwanted noise because there is no shopping centres, no car repairs, no mobile reception, it is just wife and me.
I have done The River Road in a semi, car and trailer always different each time.
Just love a dirt road.

"Just love a dirt road."
Until it rains.
2 weeks ago all roads to the north west of white cliffs were closed.
Few years ago in the same area we had to camp in the bush for several days when we got rained in half way along a road

Thank you all for your help, it has given us something to think about. Sounds like it will be adventure, as long as the rain stays away. Love rain, and we need it, but not when camping outback on dirt roads.

"Rule of thumb".....Never drive up a black(clay) road into a black sky......
