Had the sparkie put in another power point from the inverter. After approx 1hr running a foxtel box with hardly a load it cuts out with a high battery voltage error showing. Do you think its the cables from the battery to the inverter or the wiring from the inverter to the power point??? Thanks for all and any help

If it is 'hardly' any load then the batteries are stuffed, but there is not a lot of technical information supplied!
3x130a batteries power consumption 25w from a 1000w inverter.

If you have a multimeter the first thing to do would be to check if the voltage is high. Check at the 12 VDC connection to the inverter, with no load on the inverter then with the load. Read what the DC voltage parameters are in the inverter instructions. Thats a good starting point.

Thanks TDD thats a good point! The inverter is in the cupboard, tight squeeze for a 65 115kg.....but hey, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. Odd thing is I put my wifes hair curler on the inverter and it didnt alarm a high battery!!!! Maybe its to foxtel box. Will do as you suggest, check voltage. Thanks mate

No. I was thinking the same, the inverter was warm to hot. May put a vent in the door or elsewhere. Thanks mate, your imput has always been very helpful.

If the fault was 'battery voltage too high' then it is more likely to be your charging system getting to over voltage. What was charging the batteries at that time, the solar or the car or what ?? What is the regulator that controls it. Put the meter on the battery !! Not rocket science !

Why did it give an High battery Voltage error when it seems have been due to over temperature?
What was the error code? Just curious !

Projecta 1000w error Hb. It was hot Ken when I opened the door, thought perhaps the cooling fan was u/s

Surprising that it didn't give error code OTP if the problem was due to overtemperature.
Perhaps an increased temperature caused it to "misread" the incoming volts before reaching the overtemp shutdown point at 60-70C. Unlikely, but not impossible.
Was the fan operating when you opened the door?

Some ideas for cooling.
Two holes in the cupboard, air in at the bottom & air out at the top, add a small fan if passive design fails.
Standoffs so air gap on all sides.
Add heat sinks on all sides. If that doesn't work add a fan (Noctua 40mm fan in photo)
