Hi...just checking to see what the road is like from Ravensthorpe to Hyden...is it a major country road that would be fine for a VW Multivan towing an 18ft non off road caravan? We are looking to stop at Hyden and visit the Mulkas cave and Buckleys Breakaway. thank you

Hi gazza48
Many years ago I went Ravensthorpe, Newdegate, Lake Grace which was all bitumen
Very recently I went Lake Grace, to Hyden, which is all bitumen
Have never travelled from Ravensthorpe direct to Hyden, as I do not usually go off the bitumen

Go to Google Maps and use the street-view function. This is a sample. Work your way along the road and sample some more spots.

Road is a sealed road so no problems for you. The road from Hyden to Norseman is dirt and can be quite rough at times and impassable if they have had recent rain.

Ravensthorpe to Hyden is a good sealed road. We stayed at a free camp about half way called the Chicken Ranch in Varley. Power available for first 4 vans, Electric BBQ, Clean toilets and cold showers. Great spot for an overnighter. Recommend you leave a donation in the donation box cheers
