Is there a Winegard Antenna that doesnt wind up and just stays in down position ? I dont see a winder handle on the inside. New van for us and I didnt get all the nitty gritty. Thanks
Opps I was going to ask if it was a winegard, according to your picture it looks like a winegard
When I brought my second hand motorhome, the winder handle was missing, and it was hard to spot where it should have been

Rob, I am trying to make out what you are asking. Are you wanting to purchase an antenna or are you asking about the one you already have? Winegard does have antennas that are fixed to the roof that do not extend but they are not readily available in Oz. I have seen the one in this link occasionally - Marine Amplified Omnidirectional Outdoor HDTV Antenna

You blokes posted whilst I was preparing my reply. Do you have a handbook for your antenna? If not we can find one for you to download. If you have the handbook I suggest you read up on the 6 monthly service routines.
Thanks guys. Its a 5 year old van and yes, there is an antenna up there and I was told its fixed and does not wind up. I was unaware of any that didnt wind up and there is no manual. I will take a couple of pics tonight and update.

Anything that is stamped or embossed on it would be of assistance (if you can climb up there.)

Bit of a goose chase. I was given specs of winegard antenna, but turns out its an NCE model OMD2013-White which is an amplified antenna, that has no handle for winding. See attached pic and thanks for your help.

Make sure you have the amplifier plugged in ? One of mine has 240 to 12v amplifier. It needs the inverter on just to run it ! I will be getting a 12v booster so dont have to use inverter !

We have one of those NCE things on our 5 year old van roof.
To say they are useless is an understatement! If you watch tv a lot, you will need to replace it or go satellite.
We just stream Freeview or Netflix to the laptop or iPad.

What did you replace it with? If it was the standard Winegard T antenna I would not have expected it to have performed significantly better.

The problem with NCE antenna is that its fixed to the roo. You cant raise or lower it, and you cant rotate it. Supposedly its an omnidirectional antenna and should work, well, in any direction If you happen to park and its facing the right direction of the tower, itll work fine with the amplifier on, but otherwise its useless. PeterD, the T antenna is very underrated, I have one on my shed at home and it works like a dream!
