A gutzy effort by Qld,, especially considering the number of players on the bench not injured, and I'm not sure I would call the last steal that resulted in a try a "fluke". Unless I was following NSW
Can't believe what Andrew Johns had to say after the game, always thought he was a "legend", not anymore, just a sore looser

Hi all I watched the game right through to the end. Now, as a dyed in the wool AFL man, (Carna Cats) I never watch Rugby league games as such but I make a point of watching origin games.
This was a magnificent spectacle that kept me engaged the whole time, loved every minute to the extent that I found myself crossing my legs waiting for half time so that I didn't miss anything.
PS Barracked for the Maroons!!!!!!!

Likewise, also really only an AFl fan, but having lived in the Hunter Valley for 10yrs in the 90s I always followed their State of Origin series(and still do) and also the Maroons.
The game the other nights was one of the best I have seen, although the years with the likes of Wally Lewis, Alfy Langer, Walter brothers, and the great Mal Meninga etc were great years, and some tough games, And of course some great biffo's

I have VHS tapes of many of those earlier games (only the ones that Qld won)and often work myself up in the lead up to the SOO by watching a selection of them.
The rules have certainly changed over the years, mostly for the better, though I must admit that I like a bit of biff. Reminds me of what it was like when I played rep schoolboy stuff .. real contest for the ball in scrums & even in the play the ball .. a stiff arm brought at most a penalty.
The difference between the States these days seems to be attitude/commitment.
BTW, I didn't even yell or swear at this year's game 3. SWMBO even came downstairs to see if I was OK.

You really have to congratulate Rugby league in NSW and QLD and ALL the players because the way they all treat the State of Origin series is just amazing. The passion is incredible
It's a pity the AFL and the Players can't do the same, I think their heads are stuck too far up their you know whats!
All they think about is the $$$$$$$$, the passion seems to have been eroded from the game today
Really sad, I can still remember those state games SA v VIC that actually had some real passion, gone!

A great game, bit of a fluke to get possesion for that last try though, but surely made the most of it.
