Planning to travel Orbost to Chinchilla. Is there floods on the inland roads via Dubbo.

NSW and Qld have road conditions (traffic) apps and websites, as do NRMA and RACQ. They are your best source of information for the entire trip.

That last reply was not very helpful, was it? Try these two sites
Live traffic NSW and Qld Traffic. Their info is more up to date than on any forum. The Qld one is a bit of a dog to use but the NSW one is fairly easy. There is a crude trip planner on it. If you are travelling near Sydney you can use the menu (top LH) to switch on the traffic cameras so you can view how thick the traffic is on the roads where the cameras are loaded. Have a good play with both sites to become familiar with them. Check with one of the other whilst having breakfast each morning when travelling.

Helpful? It was the only information needed.

Well Doug, for starters, the road conditions (traffic) apps you are referring to are not apps, they are web pages. For many of the members who seek assistance via this forum, that would be misleading.
When it comes to the RACQ and NRMA websites, where do you find such things on them. Maybe you can provide links.

Whoa. The reason I mentioned both websites and apps is because they both exist. Check your facts !
Both NSW and Qld have road condition websites and apps. The NSW website even suggest their app but both are options as not everyone uses mobile devices and not everyone uses laptops etc.
The RACQ app provides links to their own road conditions information and yes that is essentially a website. Don't have the NRMA installed any longer so can't confirm now.
I could have provided links but again, that presumes knowing the OP's choice of device and it doesn't hurt to learn some things for yourself. Official road conditions websites or apps are the only useful source of information for a journey in dynamic times, as you mention.
