Will be touring Tasmania in Feb next year in a caravan for about 4 weeks. Want to cover as much of the Island as possible and am not sure quite how to plan the tour. Is it best to keep the number of caravan park stops to a minimum and tour around in a fairly large radius from each base camp or increase the number of stops and cover less area from each base camp. Being the first trip to Tasmania I am unsure and would welcome any advice.

Hi Kieth.
Just be aware that there are lots of spots in Tassi that have narrow, twisting and steep roads that will really test your brakes and your skill with a van on.
That said, Tassi is a very friendly place for tourists. There are not many caravan parks, but there are many opportunities to 'free camp' in some stunning locations. Some small towns even provide a free spot in town, with toilets, sometimes a BBQ, and even free power!
