Travelling Companions

I'm quite new to this camping lifestyle, and my family are not interested in travelling, so I'm a 'Solo Traveller'.
I'm up in the Adelaide Hills, and am very keen to experience some short trips to iron out any problems with my camper setup, but I'm somewhat nervous of camping by myself, and somewhat shy..but would love to beable to tag along with anyone else interested in short camping trips, and later as i become more experienced to venture further afield.
Being retired, I can just pack my bag and some tucker and trundle off most anytime.

Cheers for now,
regards Dennis. P.S. No I'm not really an ole grizzly :)

Hi Dennis,
All your fears are imagined
We had a single female neighbour at Blackwood who bought her first motorhome at age 60(+), sold her house and headed off to go around Oz!
We did not see her again for over 2 years. She had not made it around yet.

That was 6 or 8 years ago.

She has since married, become a Rally organiser in the CMCA, and still spends more time on the road than not. We saw her in Tassi in 2006!

Join the CMCA.        http://www.cmca.net.au/
They have a 'Singles' group spread all over Australia who support each other, travel together sometimes, and generally have a great time.

In the mean time, head off for a night or two.
Try Trigg or Cobblers Hill campsites down at Deep Creek Conservation Park. You will enjoy it....

Cheers,
Peter.

Peter...thanks for the positive responce...I just knew someone in this forum would have the good advice I needed.
I guess it could be called a 'kick start'..a kick in the backside and get me moving..
I'll now investigate the web site you mentioned and take the plunge, and hope the water isn't too deep for me.

Cheers.
