Caravan storage

My wife and I are heading off for our first 'big trip' in approx 4weeks. We have a 4x4 and road caravan, and want to know if anyone can tell us where or if there is anywhere we can leave this while heading down the Gibb River Road to camp for a few days from Derby or Broome.(cost?) Also as we are coming from Melbourne, up through the centre and down the west coast, we were wondering which road from Adelaide to Port Augusta is the best to travel, A1 or A32.

Hi Chalky,
Derby would be a better chance than Broome (IMHO) because Broome is chock-a-block in the tourist season.
Contact the Tourist Information Centre there. Good people.

Adelaide to Port Augusta?
The A1 is quickest, but not so interesting.
A more scenic route might be Gawler, Clare, Gladstone, Melrose, Wilmington.

Have fun,
Cheers,
Peter.

Storage in Derby here: http://www.derbytourism.com.au/search_resultall.asp
Cost $5/night, weekly rates too.

Thanks for the advice Peter, we only have approx 14 weeks travel time before we have to be back so are wanting to get to NT and the Kimberly asap, so it looks like this trip the A1 is the one for us. Will contact Derby re leaving van. Thanks again, Chalky.
