Has anyone had any experience of a Nissan D40 Navara Common Rail Diesel? We've had someone write to us who intends to tow an off road caravan, loaded capacity 2750kg, with a Nissan D40 Navara Common Rail Diesel. They would like to get any feedback/opinions regarding the Navara's performance. Any info would be appreciated.
Personally wouldnt get a D40 for towing, the D22 is much more suited for it. Its towing rate is 3000kg and fuel economy 'round town is 10lt / 100km....towing worse case 14lt / 100km. They are 3lt turbo diesel....DONT GO A BRAND NEW ONE (the 2.5lt).....we bought ours in Oct 07...its a dec 06 model.....
All we have done to ours is put airbags in the back springs for when we're towing or loaded, the rest is just basic things like uhf and bullbar.....cosmetics...!
