A new newie

Gday all

Just came across this very interesting forum so I can see Im going to get lots and lots of good info here.

I am just about to fully retire and want to hit the road a bit more. At the moment I just do short hops in my Hilux ute that has a lined flexiglass canopy on the back. As this is a 2 door it gives me plenty of room in the back for my mattress and some comforts. On little longer trips I also take the Oz tent so can at least stand up in private.

Am going to have to make some serious decisions soon because would like to upgrade....... Will I get a caravan, campervan or what???? Where will I go first??? Will I go solar??? Will be lots of things to ask myself but I think it will be fun having that dream to look forward to and hopfully in the very near future.

See ya

Hagley

mate great times, great fun ahead, you are doing the right thing, short hops, longer hops and then no home to go back to, as for camper trailer, caravan, tent or motorhome, ask a dozen people get a dozen answers, my views on solar and gennies are already readily documented, your own decision there, but the main thing is travel and travel far, meet people who have already joined the living, whatever you choose you will change to suit yourself anyway, and as your needs change so will your sleeping quarters smile
