sharing good times through pictures

just a thought, what if we were to up load our photos of our recent and current trips, that way  all could share in the good times, I am certainly not a techno geek so I tentatively put picassa web album forward as a site to load yours (and mine) photos of our recent trips then the nomads could gain access to the site via a live link and that way share the pleasureable times with all on the forum, if you have a better site please dont hesitate to suggest it, in this fashion I think it would put words in to 3d expression and be a great talking point, anyway just my thoughts, whats yours? but, oh for gods sake no nudie pictures pleeeeease!!!! carolyn and basil behave!!! hmm

Great idea Dave,
we have just opened a picassa web album account and are in the process of loading pictures from our travels. Friends and family can also access pictures while we are away and see were we have been.

If a thread was set up here entitled "Grey Nomads Pictures" and it was made a "sticky" we could upload our pics there.....Carolyn and I of course would have to have our own private thread for our pictures....speaking of pics have a squizz at these.... Are they not mind blowing? Guess where they came from and what they are, go on I dare you....
Pics should to protect your stuff from abuse only be posted at around 72pixels/inch as that gives good resolution on your monitor but stops others downloading and printing them and saves "bandwidth".... See I'm getting technical....

Basil you consistantly surprise me, obviously you are a very knowledgeble fellow indeed, the thingys that you have posted, I have seen many times in my pottie, on glancing rearwards, if not them then I know not, how does one get a "sticky thread" if one is not a spider, enlighten us please!!!

Well no Dave you are kind of warm about the objects in question. You would not see them in your pottie and they are not alien implants and they can only be found within the MALE anatomy.
Now to create a sticky thread you need to have either the powers of a moderator or site owner then you can set up threads as "sticky" which means they stay on top of the other threads. Alternatley you could reorganise the entire forum into one that has seperate subfora (I love to show my command of english by using "Fora" as the plural for Forum) for different headings or topics of discussion eg "travel tales" Pictures, gadgets, camping advice, singles looking for mates............ like this one "apg.activeboard.com"..... not suitable for everyone and I am not trying to take over but you did ask. My PSYCHIC POWERS SUGGEST THAT FOR POSTING THAT SITE discovered by accident that I will be banned for the term of my natural life.....
I could offer that for the price of making me an ad hoc, ex officio moderator I could do it all for you then you could delete my powers, erase my initials and I could initial my erasure....

Basil you lost me after " now to create", and by the way I followed that link, and O.M.G. theres no happy snaps there Basil, not nice for the younger players!!!  HAH! HAH! ooh! I've come over all funny, Basil I do not think you are not taking over and no-one has suggested that you are, and your command of the english language is to be commended  over many luncheon tables statewide, warmly, I am sure. I like the idea of sub forums (fora) I think that would work a treat, as so many subjects of interest have been raised, maybe if we could ask mrs god (our webmaster) to perhaps make up a directory as seen on say the c.m.c.a. website for instance, not that naughty one that Basil goes to, now as I said before I am not the one to talk about such things as sticky rope or subs or whatever, these things are far beyond my mindset, I am but a humble traveller, what if you Basil or some similarly highly trained exceedingly knowledgeble person or persons would aproach our saviour and humbly ascertain as to whether such a scheme is (1) viable (2) doable (3)  and can we have it. I still like the picassa web album if only for it's simplicity, but I didnt even think about people out there nicking our happy snaps, so score one for Basil's side hmm

Dave, calm down, your composure is slipping.... I wish I had found that site, then I may not have had to go through the agony of having those things dug out of me....
I'm quite happy to help out if the Femme' de' charge wants me to set things up with sub fora etc....It makes sense and you know what they say about tidy minds, they are the Devils Workshop....
Now how do I get madam moderators attention.... Basil waves his arms frantically above his head....

I do believe that the mystery objects just might be suspicious moles (Skin Cancers).
A lovely bloke who has since gone to a place of great heights had similar removed from his body, but alas ! it was far too late.

Does this get us any closer to attracting the moderators attention???

Calm as a clam ROTFL..... Yeah... Idle hands = Idle mind??
The mystery objects are in fact calcium deposits removed from my Prostate.... I thought I had cancer but just stones and apparently not uncommon at all....It's just that most men shy away, don't want to know, refuse to go to the doctor......Where as women love to gossip about things intimate....

Basil, it doesnt pay to yell at god, you will only incur her wrath, ROTFL, took me ten minutes googling to find out what it meant, bloody texting shortcuts, I'll have to get a printout of all the shortcuts and keep it beside my computer, boy those short adults have got some answering to do, last time I went to the quack (years ago) he wanted to check mine, but refused to buy me dinner first so the answer was no, hey I'm no pushover (but I do trip easy) biggrin

Gidday to all, been reading this forum for some time prior to deciding to get into it.....but here I am.
She who must be obeyed is not very computer literate, but our daughter got her going on the dreaded face book. From there she became involved in a phot group called "photos I take of Mother Nature".

Photos are easy to load and share within the group, however you do have to join the group in order to see them.

Obviously the techno-heads of this here forum already know all this, just thought I'd throw it in the ring.

Ahhh!!! another newbie,  tis a warm welcome indeed I shall throw forth to ye, I see by your biography that you are a full time traveller, we stand in the presence of A HIGHER BEING we, of course, are not worthy, we humbly accept your all knowing and all seeing presence and please accept our small token forays as merely the first steps of little children, I too wish to attain the title of full time wanderer alas and alack, I have commitments that I must fulfill, however in the fullness of time (2.10 years) I too shall throw my dwelling keys to the next highly mortgaged homeowner and proudly join the everswelling ranks of the unwashed traveller, I see also that photography is one of your hobbys, as is mine, what, prey tell, is your weapon of choice, I have a fuji s9500 but my son (part time professional wedding photographer) has the you beaut canon with a great swag of lenses, as for being computer literate, HAH!! HAH!!! join the club, with my arthritic fingers I keep hitting about three keys at once, I would prefer an "in house" photo thread simply because of its simplicity and connections with the forum, but I have not the skills necessary so must rely on others, I have spoken to the great one and just waiting for a sign, so hopefully she who rules over our little universe will smile upon us and grant this extra favour, mate whatever you "throw in the ring" will be welcome by all, "techno heads" HMMMMM!!!!! dont know about that one

Thanks for the warm welcome, it seems to be your forte, welcoming everyone. Whilst we may be living in the wheels, we haven't been able to get away too far from the east coast. Elderly family members are our current concern, but having said that, we go walkabout as often as we can, so long as we can get back to the south coast quickly if things go pear shaped.
Camera of choice is a Canon with a couple of lenses, my main fields of interest are sports and nature. Tried a couple of weddings, and although they went well, the stress of dealing with a couples BIG day I prefer to keep away from. Hats off to those that do it well, it's a definite specialty.

Basil quietly looks under the forum to see if any techno heads are hiding there...
I think Dave should be made GODS assistant.... He does a good job... That would look great (gr8) on your resume Dave... God's PA....
I agree that an inhouse gallery would be nice, maintains the esprit de corps etc and see how simple it is to do... Look POOF just like that and we can all admire the Coffee Pot....

Hmmm!!! gods P.A, gods hand on earth, HMMM!!!! that would be jesus didnt like that outcome much, those spikes would be a devil to get out of my hair, but oh boy with a reference like that I could run for parliament, wherein I would immediately grant a 300% increase in all pensions and mandatory retirement at 45 with a payout of not less than $500,000, O.K. so who's going to vote for me. techno's under the counter, hell I hope not, I'd probably have to feed the mongrel, love that model of the little coffee pot, was it made especially for you or did you purchase it somewhere, I know a fellow here who builds paddle wheel models but none that build trains, might have a go myself if I can stay home long enough

That didn't work as I had hoped. Works on another forum I frequent. I will have to put my thinking cap back on, if I can find it.

Got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I hope. let me know if you all can see the photo)

Haha! Beware, you all might get tired of me posting photos.

There you go Dave, but not a photo from a wonderful trip; just a sunset down the road. But, we do live in a very nice area, even though we are planning on deserting.

Hey Gary and Kerry, that's a great way to share your photos. Does that site allow a blog? We have a lot of family and friends who want to follow our travels, and I signed up for a blog on msn, as part of a hotmail account, but it seems to require visitors to actually sign in. That makes it less appealing for people.

Great pics you have, and great travels!

Hi Jill, yes it allows a blog. Once you have downloaded Picasa and loaded pictures you can upload to a blog. It hen steps you thru setting it up. Tried it out after reading your question so how it works I'm not sure .

Gary and Kerry, thanks for your reply. I will look into Picasa.

Where are you located. Your profile states Adelaide. We are North West beachside, near Semaphore.
