travelling with a mounted lcd tv

had a request from a gentleman regarding travelling with an lcd tv, I said I wasnt sure about it, I have now purchased an lcd mount and placed it in little blue, only a short one, seems very stiff and very stable, I took little blue for a spin (150kms) kept an eye on lcd tv and mount all the time no movement at all, got home rechecked all screw mounts,  no movement was noticible, I think you would be extremely safe if you travelled with it in the folded back position and checked screw mounts every 200 kms or so, I will take it with me up to arkaroola for 2 weeks starting friday so that will test it out, anyway hope this helps

In most hardware shops you can get a double ended plastic strap affair which is used to stop ankle bighters opening cupboard doors. They come with self adhesive pads that the plastic strap attaches too.... I used these to stabilise my TV in the old caravan, stuck one end to the top of the tellie and the other to the wall where tellie was mounted on swivel thingy and they stopped the tv swinging around in rough conditions.....

Hi Boys i think the problem with mounting LCD or any tv is what happen to the working of the tv, being bump around when traveling

it doesnt really get bumped around, dust may be a problem (same as any t.v.) I kept a pretty good eye on it and it was quite happy, I've already dragged it halfway around australia and back (shot up to the kimberleys again couple of years back, cant keep away from there truly magical place) only just came back from halls gap, ballarat, geelong, great ocean road, mount gambier, I just had it laying on its back under a towel, surely it would have bounced around more there I feel, on the stand which is, as I said, only a short one it didnt move all that much, anyway shooting off friday on some rough tracks up through wilpena pound to the gammon ranges back via leigh creek so we will see how it goes hmm

Yes a whole lot of HYPE & HUBRIS re the conveyance of LCD TV's.... In fact they are more stable to carry than a CRT TV....

Might be an idea to start a new thread in Techies Corner. This thread is from 2008; 6 yrs old.
I have a mounted LCD TV. No problems.
Oh! And welcome to the forum.
