Kangaroo Island too expensive

This destination was for many years our favourite way back to the ferry Troubridge days. Great scenery, relativelly good fishing but the cost of getting there especially with accom in tow does not make sense when pretty well the same stuff is available on the mainland, lower Yorkes, Lincoln and the South East. Go to Cape Jervis and see it in the distance. People don't realise it is 90 miles long with around 300 miles of coastline, it is necessary to allow 3 days to see it all and Kingscote is ideal to save backtracking. the first day a day trip along the north coast, then a day, the biggest along the southcoast, coming back along the Playford Highway and back to Kingscote or Peneshaw, A half day will cover the eastern end of the island, All 3 days intense. I believe they don't help themselves over there and you can as i said earlier spend your money elsewhere, ferry cost alone will get you alongway on the mainland. I really did love K.I. but make it easier to get there financially and then many more SA people will go. Sorry KI but you have had years to fix the obvious. For those that don't care for the costs, enjoy.....

yep, you are absolutely right about the cost but it is one of the dragon's and my favourite destinations, we have done the yorke thing many times and will again but it doesnt really compare, we love KI and dont care if they double the cost of transport, we will still try and go every other year, american river unbelievable, western Ki magnificent, remarkable rocks, seal bay, admirals arch I could go on and on but I wont,  one thing I will say is FIX THE BLOODY ROADS driving on 1" marbles and 6" corrugation is no joke and not to be taken lightly
