TV reception..... a new era...

Sitting at Tathra watching a very grainy shimmering picture on the tv was giving me the irrates and next morn at the official morning tea I asked others about their TV reception..... The concencus was that everyone else had a set top box or a TV capable of digital TV reception, caught the bus into Bega, paid my $59.95 at Retravision, took it back to Tathra installed it and the pic is mind blowing. We will all eventually need one anyway as analaougue TV is to be turned of in 2009(???)....

Recently got a new Digital capable TV for the van and your right the pic's are so clear the only problem they tell me is you either have a good pic or nothing and the signal is easily broken up by bad weather and wet leaves or buildings. A word on getting a digital TV make sure it has an auto tuning function, mine has and it's so easy to set up tp ensure good reception no matter where you are so long as there's a signal that is

yep way of the future, digital is so much stronger in municipal areas that it overwhelms the old analogue if you have rabbit ears inside you could trim them right down but set top dig is the way to go. we invested in one of these new fangled monster wide screen high res digital tv's for home, my eyes actually get sore from having to constantly move around this huge monolith, not that it matters, 20 minutes of watching the mind numbing garbage that passes for tv nowadays and I'm off to noddy land anyway

So far reception has been OK; heading to Denham from here at Kalbarri this w/endAfter 4 months in Perth am now having a holiday. Back to Perth mid Nov. then to Bremer Bay then cross the Nullabour on way home for December. Loving the coast up here so far, is beautiful. Saw a lone whale heading south yesterday from cliff top walk. Weather a bit ordinary, windy and showers, but rain is always needed.   What brand was the set top box you bought?
Cheers Colleen
