AGM Deep Cycle Batteries

Hi Folks,

Dropped into Battery World to get a price on a 100Ah
Deep Cycle AGM for the new Jayco Penguin and nearly fell over when the
bloke told me the cheapest one he had was $429.00. I did a
Google search tonight and found the same battery he was talking about
for $315.00 - but it was Alco Batteries who aren't over here in Perth.

Can
any body give me a heads-up on a good dealer over here? At the moment
the 12 Volt Shop looks to be about the most reasonable.

Hi Mike47.
See if you can find a distributor for Full River AGMs there. There will be one somewhere.
Even get one via the internet.
I purchase 5 @ 120Ahr (4 years ago) and paid $1200 for them from Independent Batteries in Adelaide. They are still fine.
Alco are excellent batteries, but will cost more. Here is a guy who will send one to you. Check the price with freight. Maybe another $50?
Arid /12 Volt Shop know their stuff, but I a not sure what their prices are like on AGM batteries http://www.12volt.com.au/index.html
Sue, the lady that owns this business is one of the most knowledgeable in solar/charging/RV electric systems that I have ever met.

Cheers,
Peter
ps.. I have no commercial connection with any of the above businsses.

basically you get what you pay for, check prices and warranty, full river batteries are very popular, dont buy cheapest, dont buy dearest, dont go cheap with the initial setup or you will regret it "out there"

This is the latest BIAS cattledog pricing  . There is one in Claremont according to the cattledog back page

I ran 2 x200 on my boat  when I had it and they gave excellant service  to power the  Diesels  and all the nav sat gear and electronics  on boats  .  I like them because you can mount them in any position and you don't get any gassing in confined areas .  Good choice  for RV's .
