Having bought the Penguin and introducing it to the axed camper trailer,it came to the time when the decision had to be made about what went from A toB.Well Lifeline and Vinnies are going to do really well...............we have enough knives ,forks, spoons,BBq tools, plastic containers, thingys you put in wine bottles, tin openers soggy boxes of matches, bits of carpet, underlays(No not the Ladies Who work in Premier Nathan Rees upstairs rooms). All the excess gear is going up to the Sunshine coast and hopefully will find a happy home at my sons place.funny the things that you cant take with you, radiogram that plays 78's,vases,paintings,bloody cane vases fullof old twigs( could be in the pooh now).Twenty seven blankets, numerous sheets, full Antarctic cold weather gear, but on the good side Barry bloody Manilow records,cd,s,tapes, videos stay here in the shed, unless of course my kids want to have them to remind them of their childhood days.Cheers Ibbo

Radiogram?78's? ahhhhhhhhh this could have some value believe it or not. One of my hobbies is digitally remastering old audio recordings onto CD's Players for old records are in short supply......As a side effect of this hobby I have now a collection of old gramaphones, cylinder players, Amberols (Gracie is pictured next to one) etc....
Ask around you may get a pleasant surprise someone may be happy to get your gramaphone in exchange for a few hundred $$$$ the proceeds of which could be put to good use, not necessarily on "secretarial" services above Nathans Office. (That news had SWMBO & I in hysterics but alas I would not pay money to a woman with a pixelatted face YUK!!)

Basil, the gramophone that gracie is standing in front of, is that one of yours, I've been admiring it for a long time as it brings back memories of my childhood,
my grandmother had one identical, except her winding handle was black I reckon, when we got sick of hearing chad morgans sheik from scrubby creek or when you go to jump a barbed wire fence and you think of what you left behind or any of the other old scratchys we would "nick" the needle out of it, she had at least 50 - 60 of the old bakerlight records
also had the needle sharpener to go with it, dont know where it all went, but I do know the records made good frisbies when we were bored, one throw only though

Yep Dave sure is! That is my Victor and it is original. If you ever decide to collect these beware there are many reproductions out there and those advertised on Ebay usually are fake. My others are an Edison Standard phonograph for edison cylinders of which I have several. Needle sharpener? like this one? I can still buy new needles which amaze me dirt cheap 300/$20.

absolutely amazing, it's a beauty, as a timber worker (when I get the time) I appreciate the old craftsmen, I can see why you grew attached to collecting them
the needle sharpener was a pretty big and robust affair, it had a handle at one end, one mounted the needle into its little jaws and lowered the device down to the sharpening position and turned the handle a couple of times and it came out as sharp as a ummm!!!! needle!!
way over engineered for what it was designed for, I reckon you could chuck a lump of railway iron in it and gramophone needles would have come out the other side
surprised you can still buy the new needles
