intro myslf

Hello all!, just thought I'd introduce myself to the forum.
I've dreamed of becoming a grey nomad since I was twenty years old.Well I'm nearly there now, some 40 years on,just a few years work to go. I've been working on repairing an old caravan (Millard series 80) .Not as flash as some, but has everything I need to be comfortable. towing with a deisel jackaroo 93'
My wife and I do some small trips when we can We both enjoy the travel, but I still have some work to do to convince the "handbrake", sorry the  wife,  that there is no good reason to come back to rental property.(another sad story).
Any way I'll get there one way or another, and join you lucky buggars on the road.

Love the forums , I read  them most days, great website.
thanks all  ......Rowdy ( been called that since I was a kid because i'm so shy) unfortunately.

g'day ray, the 80 series millard is a good van, and I'm sure it will serve you well, some travellers go out with nothing more than a tent and they are as happy as mudlarks, others leave with "it all". it makes no difference just as long as you go

I think I have always been a nomad but just simply become "grey", sort of happened overnight, went to bed a young vigorous man and woke up a cantankerous old grey bugger whom I dont recognise anymore when I look in the mirror

shyness is an illness that is very easy to overcome, all that is needed is self assurance and a little encouragement, a bit of time with an outgoing person would cure that in a week, nothing better than travelling and meeting people to help that

and you are right, no reason to go back to any property, rental or owned, we have been "renting" ours from the bank for some 20 years (some call it a mortgage, same animal as far as I'm concerned) cant wait to hand it over to some other poor unsuspecting sod who can pay it off again for another twenty years, when we go it's a motorhome for us

of course you will "get there" absolutely nothing to hold you back, your life, your choices, make them good ones and you'll be apples
