Tribute to Dave06 on 1000 posts!!

This is a special tribute to Dave on post number 1000 and his wonderful contributions to this forum.

Remember that song by Harry Belafonte called The Banana Boat Song ????

Just to remind you it goes like this.............

Day o  day-ee-oh, daylight come and he wanna go home

Six foot seven foot eight foot bunch, daylight come and he wanna go home ....etc

got that tune in your head?  need more ?

Hey Mr  Tallyman tally-me-banana..............ok now with this tune in your mind sing along  to the words below, to get the effect you must sing the following to the above tune.

        Davos The Gun

Davo, day-ee-vo,

Davos the gun on vans and motor homes,
Davo, d-d-d-Dave-o,
Davos the gun on vans and motor homes,

On The Grey Nomad Forum hes the man
Davos the gun on vans and motor homes
Sixteen foot, eighteen foot, twenty foot vans,
Davos the gun on vans and motor homes

Hes been there done that and hes not braggin
Davos the gun on vans and motor homes
With Little Blue and his wife the Dragon
Davos the gun on vans and motor homes

He likes to improvise instead of buying new fangled
Davos the gun on vans and motor homes
Instead of washing machine he uses a mangle
Davos the gun on vans and motor homes

Hey Mr tallyman tally up the postings
Davos the gun on vans and motor homes
Davos got a thousand posts, we hope he isnt boasting
Davos the gun on vans and motor homes

Davo, da da da Davo,
Davos the -  gun on vans and motor - homes.

To mark the achievement of Dave reaching 1000 post on the forum all members must recite this song while taking a shower!!

Congratulations Dave on reaching 1000 posts !!

Welcome Shazza, this is a great forum and the more I read the more I want to  pack up and go!  We plan to do our grey nomads thing next year, but this time with a bit of comfort, we did the whole thing in our 20's in a small car this time we will have a van.

As for the Banana Boat song going around your head, how do you think we feel, we (I say 'we' it's actually he)! composed this song yesderday in readiness for the big 1000, so all day yesterday, all night and this morning one of us has suddenly burst into song with "Davo's the gun on vans and motor homes" to that damn tune !!! arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh

yep dead right, Dave I do owe it all to you, oh and a couple others, as I have stated in the past in one of my many rantings this is the only forum that I belong to, the others havent the same feel, I looked at a couple and thought "nup, not for this little black duck"

as for sue and brian I am (as you may have noticed) very deeply touched and honored indeed, as previously stated, very clever, now please go and get a hobby!!

as for you ibbo the place is full of nice people thats why I'm still here, count you as one of them

and they havent kicked me out yet gary, although a couple have tried, love the way you are placing more posts mate, good job

shazza, what do i say, another great little contributer that we can count as our own, well done on your posts!!

Congrats Dave...Doing the right thing, I read that we mature people who "play" around on the net will live longer because it excercises our brains......

thanks bob! just planning our next one, I was thinking of taking our magna across to Tassie for a couple of weeks until I found out the price of accomadation, I'm not paying $150 - $200 a night just for a bed, I think we will take little blue over in early february, that way we save about $1,800, we can afford to go to the pub on that for a couple of meals

Accomodation on the Appel Isle is always expensive, I think it's geared to the "fly - drive" crowd....
I'm thinking of taking the new Black Beauty and the Gin palace over on the steamer while sybil flys as she does not like "boats"... HO BOY just what I want a Day at sea, I could ponce around doing a horn pipe for a day
