Raining here too - over an inch in half and hour this morning anad still slow rain. Good luck to all those that need it - but we are not one of them at the moment - makes a change
Glad you're enjoying "our rain". It's an early Christmas pressie to you Croweaters from us Sandgropers. The whole of the south-west of WA received between 10mm and 70mm early in the week. Some roads are still blocked between Albany and Esperance. This is following the mildest / coolest November since 1964 and the wetest for about 10 years.
Will be still intersting to see what weather we are blessed with at Christmas ..... last year Xmas Day was hot (around 37) and Boxing Day 44, making Perth the hotest City in the world on Boxing Day.

Hi Lynn & Barry - where's "here"? As in what region / state?
I'd like to boast about having 6" last night but alas we just had a solid drenching yesterday.....Most welcome though, Son's dam actually has water in it now....

Up here at North Haven, nsw(Dave) and on our maiden trip it has been rather damp for the first three days. The Penguin was leak free,we have learned a few things about the van and to be honest the rain did not dampen our spirits(no pun intended).Just given us a thirst to get up and go next year.Cheers Ibbo.
I dont understand why rain could or would dampen anybodys spirits, the dragon and I love to go walking in a rainforest after a shower of rain it involves "all" the senses, we love walking in a drenching downpoar, we just put our coats on and wander around like a pair of happy little duckies, the day that we dont enjoy rain and all its various wonders is the day they can close the lid on my coffin

No Dave I did not mean dissapointed us.The rain was great as a guide of what to expect in the future.I bet you jump up and down in puddles dont you.nothing better than walking in the rain, after all you can only get wet once.Heading up to the Sunshine Coast on 28/12/08 for a fortnight.house and cat sitting my sons place.looks though we will have New Years Eve at Mooloolaba surf club.................well thats if I can stay awake after 8.pm.Cheers Ibbo
you bet I jump up and down in puddles, the dragon and I were caught in a heavy downpoar over in kangaroo island whilst doing the platypus viewing walk ( 6 kms return I think) we had a ball with the overhanging branches which of course were full of water, one would hold them back and just as the other walks through would then release it thereby soaking the other or a simple shake would release half a gallon of water
I jump in puddles to soak the other just for the hell of it, I am a big kid at heart if you read my little bit at the bottom of my post it reads "never stop playing" as part of it,
I still take great delight in setting adrift little bits of bark to watch it charge down a stream, and I tell you here and now, once I start (and I dont give a shxt whose watching) others join in and it becomes very competitive, I dont look like a kid anymore but by hell they cant stop me acting like one
dont take umbridge at any of my posts, they may come across as agressive but that is not my meaning
