As 'First Timers' to this Forum we would like to introduce ourselves - Bruce and Diane. Bruce has been involved in the Coach industry for 40 years while Diane's expertise lies in the field of administration & computers. Apart from travel, our interests are woodwork, cars, golf, football and cricket (Go the Aussies!) for Bruce while Australian/Local History, reading, writing and photography are Diane's. What are the most important things to us.... family of course! Is there anythingelse?
We are impatiently waiting for the time we can retire and at the last count it will be in about 12 months time. Some days we feel as if we can't wait especially when reading the experiences of those who are already out there doing what we want to do. We have had a van and 4WD for about 3 years now during which time we have gone away for 'long weekend' trips once every month plus every minute of our annual holidays are used to explore further afield. What a great experience we have had each and every time! Don't know what has been the best part.... the places we visit or the people we have met. Actually I think that without the people we would not have the great memories we hold dear at the present time.
As mentioned by many on this Forum it is the camaraderie and mateship that stands out. There is always someone there if you need a hand in any way and just as importantly we too have offered assistance when and if needed by fellow travellers..... isn't this what it is all about?
Even now, as 'practicing' grey nomads, we have made many friends and shared wonderful moments and explored amazing places.
It is our hope that when the time comes for us to take to the road as full time retirees, that we get to meet some of the great people with whom we share this forum.
Just a small warning..... we will definitely be taking advantage of the wealth of knowledge and experience possessed by others on this Forum and we in return will help if and when we can.
We look forward to sharing much with fellow members.
