It's finally Bub's turn!

.........and about time too!
The Sister and I are heading down The Great Ocean road today for a 3 day trip. Haven't got a definate route, will just be following our noses. First planned stop tonight at Dandos campground. We will get the cobwebs out of the winnie, suss out any needs, then I will throw The Sister out the door, and will be heading off on my own towards Adelaide, next Wednesday. Then ???. The adventure begins! I am soooooo bloody excited, mixed with a wee bit, just a wee bit mind you, of anxiety (for the unknown), which is a good mix. It will keep me on my toes.
I will post when I get back from TGOR and let you know how it went, before I head off to The Great Unknown!
Cheers!

well, well, well, the time has finally come and you are about to spread your wings and take to the air, I guess we have done all we can to help you on your way and to try and ease your fears even though I know there will still be some, but just remember any one of us are here at any time and can be contacted by email or phone if for any reason you have the need, I know I certainly will be

remember a little bit of what I've been banging on about and be sure and aproach that campsite after sussing it out, they will welcome you, they are freinds that you just havent met yet. dont camp under large overhanging branches, particularly eucalypt trees, they drop branches, and dont pee in long grass, it always bends back and gets you in the end

just relax, time is no longer your enemy, if you dont get there today then next week will do just as well, and if not then, well the week after that is just fine

but anyway dianne three things of great importance, (1) keep the dirty side down (2) keep the nose pointed forward and (3) always wear clean undies you dont know when you are going to have an accident,

the last one was one that my mum drummed into me from a little feller, I will pass it on to you as a quirky memory on those long trips when the mind wanders from it's appointed task

all the best and may you have nothing but happy trails!!!

Thanks to you all for your blessing and good wishes. It's off to the Grampians tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty confident now after a little bout of homesickness a couple of days ago! I told my Grandson I was heading off and he got all excited and asked if I could now drive my motorhome to his house!! Big ocean, I told him. 'Well just put it on a big boat', came the reply!! I now have Skype, had a long chat to him, and feeling much better! It will be a bit strange not having a travelling companian to share the 'journey' with, but hey, that's what you guys are for! Plus the new friends I am yet to make around those campfires!
One bit of luck has come my way already. I was approached by someone suggesting I write about my adventure and to cut a long story short ...... have sold 'my story' to a bi-monthly magazine, for a very generous sum, and I will be doing another 5 stories for issues this year! We are hoping it will be an ongoing series. It will help with the finances a bit.
Catch you on the road sometime! Thanks again!
Cheers!
