I see on the news that the country is now in the grip of the 'R' word.  I agree with the experts - with one big difference!
In their eyes 'R' is for 'recession' but for me it is for 'RETIREMENT'!!!!!!!!
As from last Friday I am now officially a nothing in official eyes but watch out for us on the road.
We are booked on the ferry 09 May and have no set date to return until after about 18 months on the big island.
What are our plans, I hear you ask? Who cares. We will see and do what we choose to do.
Isn't life grand when one has grey hair? Or rather, what is left is grey.

dont know about this life is grand with grey hair bit but I know (well I would like to know) that life would be grand if we didnt have to go to work all the time

RR,

The Cat hasn't been running for some years now after being known as the "spew cat" by many who sailed on her.

The new Spirits are terrific to sail on overnight but not so good on the day trip - IMHO. Many hours of nothing to see and not enough seating around the TV's. The seats are not exactly made for comfort when using them for 10 hours at a stretch. I have not had a poor feed on it on any of the voyages I have made, at a reasonable cost as well. Plenty of bars decanting the necessary fluids at hotel prices!
At least on the night voyage you can sleep well knowing you can't see anything anyway!

All the above is offered without the permission or knowledge of one's spouse who has not, on occasions enjoyed the trip. But then she has also been known to drive a broom head through a wall trying to kill a huntsman spider! I'm not going to talk about that anymore because she may find another pest to use the broom on.

If anyone is thinking of doing the trip to Tas it may pay you to sign up for the TT Line e-newsletter. We received one last week with advice of a 55% discount for making a booking that day! So we did and saved a packet.
