Just noted the new forum dealing with free campsites , looks like a good move and will be very helpful to all .

What happened to the creation of a  forum for Techo Info that many suggested , is that going to get a jumper soon

Yeah as a bloke who has had his share of being a forum runner/moderator it's a big part of the job to keep your forum on top of the list of available forums in that area of activity.
You as a consumer have to be fairly switched on as many, infact most of these fora (plural of forums) are owned and run by those with a vested interest ie they let you use their forum in the hope that they will capture your $$$ when you need or purchase something that coincidentally the forum is selling.......
We are pretty good here in as much as we allow other forums to be mentioned and we have an honest open and unbiased webmaster. Many other fora are not so tolerant....
I too await our Tech Forum, there is so much to go in it because though the engine that drives this forum is free it's functionality is restricted in some ways ie we can for example only attach image files to our posts and the search option is not the simplist to use....so to counteract that it is better if sub fora are created for the various areas we need.

the free camps thingy is great but we must keep it to FREE CAMPS and not caravan parks please, c/parks are everywhere and can be found very easy, so please dont list them there it will only pollute the idea of the thread

I will ask Cindy if it is possible to set up another thingy for the tech side but we dont want to become bogged down and placed in to too many pigeonholes

the day this becomes a "vested interest" forum is the day that I am gone...........stop cheering you buggers I heard you!!! I prefer the "non itemised" and free on going nature of this forum

I appreciate the work that has to go into putting a forum together and the need to make sure it's not hi jacked by the commercial sector or other vested interests . However, there are many good ideas that members have come up with that are worthy of filing for future reference in the just in case file. At present to find the info in the very busy general forum is somewhat difficult and we find the same questions coming up time and time again.

The idea for pipe storage put up by Cupie in answer to the question of Necessary Gear is one such worthy item as are the various concoctions put forward to clean dunnies and water tanks. .
Thinking on it why not use "Just In Case" as the forum title that way all worthy ideas will be in one location and reduce the volume of repeat questions and the need for a complex search engine.
