Best way to travel from Kuranda,Qld. To Adelaide

G'Day Everyone ,
I wrote a new topic on the forum and as yet 1/ Cant find it and 2/ No ones bothered to reply , Iwas wondering if I missed something out, I call myself bobby06 and you probably no where to find all these blogs. My enquiry is about imfo from people who have recently travelled between Kuranda to Adelaide and the best way to go. The NRMA and RACQ suggest using the back way via Aramac, Barcaldine and Longreach as this involves considerable amount of travel on the dirt ,we would prefer to steer clear,What do you think?Would you be good enough to help as we plan to start this Sun.23/03/09 lack of Cyclone permitting. Cheers Avril and Nigel Stockley

we normally go south from charters towers thru emerald ,roma ,goondiwindi ,moree, dubbo then choose whatever way you want to go.all good wide road, except for 20k near bellyando crossing which is single lane but being done up,little traffic but few trucks. no dirt roads . if you go by the lynd h'way to charters towers take it easy, lot of trucks and narrow road causes a few accidents.
hope this helps
rocan

Thanks a million Rocan is it OK to call you Roy, we shall bear in mind what you have told us, as we don't want to get caught up with to many trucks, as we are new to this game. Thanks also too you Dave06 for helping out, will let you know how I make out, maybe see you all sometime.
Avril and Nigel

Now in a Dragon Rapide that's a trip I look forward to .

See Lake Eyre is filling up and the birds are on the move , believe me there's a sight worth seeing out of anything that flies

Wern't they the best planes Wombat? I flew from Camden to Canberra in one in the 70's at about 500 feet..... I think there is 1 still flying at Temora. Flying boats were another great aircraft, I used to get dragged to Launceston from Rose Bay to visit rellies in a Sunderland short.... The noise of those engines....

I envisage an ultralight flight over Eyre, just a few more details to attend to...
