A few years ago I had a Hayman Reese solid state brake controller installed in my car, after about 6 months use I couldn't stand it any more so I replaced it with a Tekonsha Prodigy and have never looked back, it is so easy to use, no more fiddling around changing the settings for different road speeds, just set and forget.
What controllers do others use and why?
John

I'm with you on this one John. I have a Teckonsha Voyager fitted simple as to use.Was recommended by the young car salesman I bought the Ranger from. He uses it on his trailer that he transports his drifter race car on.

Hi all. I don't know how hard it would be for the webmaster to categorise some of these topics so we could search by topic. Every GN contributor has something useful to share, and there are numerous topics, apart from the diversions, which we could all put to good use. The topics could be updated if someone comes along with new/better relevant information. I'll leave it to the experts. Cheers Granny

My 2 bobs worth I reckon if anyone has any subject matter to ask ask away what does it mater if the question has been asked 100 times, gawd if the subject is boring to some its imfo for others.
yep as new folks join, the subject matter does tend to be the same after a while but thats what us "old hands" are here for isnt it, to help the new kids on the block, so a lot of stuff will get rehashed and rehashed again
what we are here for is to continue answering the questions as they arise and hopefully inject a little humour and knowledge as well, just to brighten and enrich someone elses day, well thats what I try to do anyway, been there done that now pass it on so someone else can use the skills gained from a trip or just picked up along lifes journey, aim for at least one smile a day to pass on to others
if you feel a bit grumpy that "this has been asked before" well just pass it over and someone else will answer it, dont bight at someone even though it would be ideal if at least they would check previous postings, for a lot of people (me included) this is their first foray into fora's (Basil take notice in my use of the correct terminology) and like me the only forum they will use, please try to make it a pleasant one, leave the nasty bits at the outside door, dont bring it in here
a good way to check previous posts for a specific subject matter is to go up the top of the "page"where it says " search" poke in that to which one may seek and it will take you to the applicable subject
perhaps we need an "introduction" section where all this info, such as how to post an avitar, or how to search for a specific subject or whatever???? could be readily found at the very start of the forum

I thought these type of ideas and advice were going into the techo forum .
Is it because we are getting old or are reinventing the wheel with of discussions threads
This topic may have been aired in the past but as new people come into the group who may not know how to find such topics or are unsure if they have even been discussed in the past by starting a topic such as this one the old hands come out and give advice as to where to find the older discussions, it has nothing to do with getting old or reinventing the wheel.
The subject line tells one the nature of the topic if you find it boring or repetetive then simply move on to another discussion.
Brake controllers are definately related to caravanning and therefore are not in my opinion off dicussion threads.
