Good thinking.
lost a Jack Russell recently, killed a few snakes including the last one at a friends ppty, we had given her to them as they had lost their own dog and were pining for another. We had 4 dogs at the time. (now only two)
The boss has now bought an australian terrier, so is reading the 'travelling with pets' site all the time.
Wll take him with us on our next trip.

sorry to hear about the loss of the little jack, fantastic little dogs the jack russell, only got two speeds, flat out and sleep, they are blue murder on snakes and mice

with your terrier is it the silky, we had the silky, great mate, went with me everywhere, I always wanted a miniature silky but never got it, another great little dog but only they dont know that they are little

I'm surprised at just how many "big" men have little dogs and how protective they become of their little mates,

Indeed cats can be trained. Eldest Son has a Bengal and "it" goes walkies on a leash and ignores dogs and native wildlife but does have a penchant for Walabies and Eastern Greys if they venture in to "it's" range.

It quite often it pleases us to please you blokes.
Cats are soft and cuddly sometimes, just like us girls, but can be ruthlessly independent, and don't you guys forget it.
Dogs are good, loyal company, and provide unconditional affection.
No other human ever really does that.
In my next life I'm coming back as a pampered pooch.

No, the australian terrier is a slightly different breed. looks very similar but the hair is not as long. Strange, im not neccessarily an animal person, they just seem to turn up at my place. Now down to 2 dogs,2 cats, 2 horses, two chooks couple of birds plus all the native birds and things we feed. Lucky we have single beds in the van, Max can sleep on the bosses bed.
