Happy Easter to all - safe travels. Does anyone know how to transfer pics taken on mobile phone to a computer? I know how to upload them onto Bigpond photo website, but I want to save in my albums on my laptop, We are at Mudjimba Beach van park on Sunshine Coast Qld. which is very nice spot although busy with families over this weekend. Left home late Feb; have been to Mudgee,Tamworth and Pt MacQuarrie. Free camped on Murray River Tooleybuc; Tia Falls on Oxley Highway, and at Tugun near Brunswick Heads, this is a new one just off highway, for vans trucks etc last one before Qld border - all good. In WA last year free camped at Galena Bridge on main road near Kalbarri turnoff, very nice spot. Cheers.
you have a couple of choices, both of which I know very little about so I will try to bluff my way through
one way is "blue tooth" dont know about that, my phone has it but I dont think my putey has unless its tied up in that "wireless network thing??, I know nothing of that except its good for hands free phone calls whilst driving
the other way, and this is the way that I muddle through with it is through "usb" you should have an "installation disc" and a "usb cable" that came with your phone
first install the driver from the installation disc (it will do it automatically) in to your putey, it will ask you to "connect" your phone, place the usb cable in the putey usb port (any free one will do) whack the other end into your cameras usb "outlet" and it will install the necesary drivers
once the drivers are installed you should see a "menu" from which you can make several choices like, sms messaging from your puteys keyboard or downloading piccys
it will or should come with a little program to use to open the piccys, just press on the apropriate guidance keys and you should be right
if none of this works, ask Basil he will know!!!
oh and sometimes if you read the instruction book (which is for wimps) then a little bit of info may come to light

My phone has a micro SD card which I take out and put into the adapter and then into the SD slot on the "All in One Card reader" and transfer pics that way.

If I connect the phone via the USB cable I can check the "Transfer pictures" option and go that way toooooooooooo.

I got a blue tooth unit from H Normals for about $49.00 plug it in to the USB port and it will down load the drivers and assign a code to your computer so your phone can be paired to it
Once downloaded on the hard drive an icon will appear in the bottom left of screen put cursor on this icon and it will show the assigned code for the computer so when asked you can pair it with your phone
RIGHT Click and select start Blue Tooth device it will now pair your phone and computer together meaning this is where the pics will go .. They go into a folder called My Blue Tooth Places then a sub folder Blue Tooth Exchange You can then move them to where ever you like
It will search for all devices in the immediate area and will pick up your phone. ( If it's Blue tooth compatible ) .
1 Select gallery on your photo 2 Select pic to send 3 Select options on your phone 4 Select send via Bluetooth 5 Select send and off you go
Need to repeat procedure from step 2 to download each pic
Works the same as the Big W photo lab downloading
If you get one of the devices read the instructions but I think they all work the same as mine, Must admit did pull some hair until I got it working , works like a dream now

The easiest way is to install the cd that came with the phone. It should automatically load and install.
It also should put an icon on your desktop. Click it when done and from the menu, select download picy. If no icon, go to programs, and select it. You should have connected your phone via its special cable, USB to mini usb
Thats the easy part, now the problems start.
If you do not tell it where to download to, it will decide for you. So in options, set the download target, or, watch where it downloads to.
Now the fun bit. Depending on what other software you have loaded, there may be a problem looking at them. Some installation cd's install their software. By default they will be opened by our good friend windows. Hard to use software.
Eitherway, once on your hard drive, and you know where they are, you can select the software you like to open them.
Have fun, its not all that hard, if it works first time.
Thanks - have loaded the disc, plugged phone into usb, then only thing that comes up in menu to transfer is contacts in phone book!! Am so frustrated so have given it up for a while. Thought I might uninstal the whole phone bit and reinstall?? Phone is an LG , dont know if that is a problem. I usually use the camera but this one day didnt have it and just had to take a pic. Thanks again for your advice anyway.

G'day, I have an LG TU 500 which needs a micro card inserted before you can transfer photos to your computer, I had the same problem with my phone until I put in a card. If you do not have a card installed on the phone I suggest a trip to your local Telstra shop.
Hope this is of some help to you. John

G'day,
Yes picture is Natures Window in the Kalbarri National Park, I took it whilst there last year and put on as a reminder to get my rear end into gear and organise another trip away.
A tip with the mobile phone, connect it to the USB and then right click on the start menu and select explore, with a little luck you should see your mobile as a removable drive, double click on that and navigate to where your photo's are stored on the phone.
