In the building trades plumbers are often referred to as labourers with their brain removed. Well QLD builders or landscapers are up there with them in the smarts stakes
ah well the thought was there, and he does own a puddle jumper!!! got it mixed up with a rock hopper!!

The driveway saves on lawn and its maintenance. The pseudo garage is the games room and a fully equipped gym.
Well, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. In reality it's indicative of Qld mentality. They certainly think differently over here. They like to blame everyone for everything. No one is responsible for their own actions here. I just hope I don't catch it while I'm parked up here. It's a risk I have to take.

I've been waiting for other outraged banana benders to respond to this slanderous generalisation. (just joshing)
No takers .. so I'll have to do it myself.
Surely an educated person like yourself Granny, would be aware that generalisations are generally wrong.
I'll just have to give you the benefit of the doubt & take it that you are refering to the feral refugees from the south (& west?) who inhabit your CP at Cairns after the peak season.
We are in the main, lovely, honest & responsible people who thankfully may see things a little different from mexicans ..... but we loves ya all .. keep coming back & spending your money.
NEXT ....
who was it who said that 'Plumbers were labourers with their brain removed'?
I know who you are & where you live so I'll send over my plumber son to sort out the issue.
I accept it G that generalisations are inaccurate, but having watched the news and read a couple local newspapers, and I'm embarassed to admit being a former journo. They publicly cast blame, not always at the Govt, but often at the Bligh Party. When the sand disappeared from the Sunshine Coast at the hands of a cyclone they cried in their beer blaming the lack of tourists on the missing sand. During the oil spill they blamed the govt for lack of action, the inappropriate action, underestimating the volume of the spill, and for the lack of plastic bags they were using to collect the soiled sand. In Cairns the media (and probably the people) blamed the Councillors for everything from floods during downpours, the flooding which resulted from downpour run off meeting king tide, and the vehicles causing bow waves into businesses which skirt the flooded roads. It's a great place to stay, the environment up here is spectacular, but the total dependence on overseas tourists is a bit of a worry. That's life. Cheers Chris

Now I see where you're coming from. We agree that the stuff the media serve up is sensationalist story seeking rubbish.
We even turn off from our favourite local ABC station during the morning session. It seems that their objective is to beat up on some way out anti govt. story every day just to stir up listener reaction. Even the good old ABC seems to be rating driven.
Turning off helps with the blood pressure & stops me yelling at the radio. Like you we couldn't believe the line that they were taking in those instances that you mentioned.
I don't buy the papers as I can't stand the biased editorial and feature articles by grubs like Andrew Bolt et al.
Phew! I thought I'd offended you for a minute. I'm glad to learn I'm on the right track. The ABC varies from region and state, depending on who's in charge. They have a policy, but it gets a bit flexible sometimes. I did enjoy working for regional ABC in SA for about 10 years, and felt it was the most honest medium of the day. In most cases it still is. Some do like to put the boot in to get the profile up, but sometimes it has the opposite affect. I still believe if the story is strong enough, and the piece is well written it will stand up by itself without embellishment. Add a good interview resulting from the right questions, and there you have it. But then, even Paul Keating couldn't answer my question with a straight answer. And then he lost the election. Long story, but quite a funny one. It seems they all have the policy about the truth vs a good story. Pity.
