selling

Hi Everyone,
Just thought I would let you know that I had an answer from the webmaster re
garding selling on the forum apparently she did think about a selling site but decided against it as it was rather involved with the money side of things so she advised me to sell through e-bay or the trading post. Just thought you may want to know.
                                   Helena.

While I have great respect for Cindy, as she manages this site very well, I not sure what her concerns are here: re selling

I did note someone sold some solar panels recently, GN to Gn, on here. One cases does not set a precidence for sure, and a decision by the webmaster is to be respected.

I for one would be happy to have a separate forum "for sale". but could see that it may be abused for commercial gain. Maybe she is concerned that it would increase her work load to monitor it, and keep the commercials sellers out. We could do that for her, if that is the case.

There is also the personal message section.
Tell us what is for sale, but the negotiation can be done on the private message section or by email or telephone.
Just use the forum to introduce the article being sold to generate the interest.
The rest is up to the seller and the bidder and/or buyer.
That would keep the webmaster out of the equation, and therefore no administration.
Just an idea. Cheers Chris

Chris has most certainly got her 'smarty pants' on.  Is a good idea. Simple and effective.

Had any luck with the itchy feet syndrome ?

that's the way the other items were sold, and I can see no problem with that at all, the trouble comes, I would think, if cindy or the site were to be brought in as a factor in a faulty goods sale or monetry refund situation

I can see no problem in listing and then pm'ing the details and then finalising the deal outside of the nomads website giving cindy and the site absolutely no recriminations

No Grizzly, the feet are still itching, and not a foot scratcher in sight.
I'll cope I suppose.
Still waiting for appointments to deal with my medical stuff, but I'm getting very impatient, even grumpy, waiting around for the Qld public health system to fit me in. Then there'll be the surgery I'll have to wait for. More bloody waiting. Getting really fidgety here. Really fidgety. Especially knowing the condition I believed was Chronic, for more than 25 years could now be fixable, before it does anymore damage to my cardio-vascular system. What's taking s o o o long?
Patience, I must have patience. I must have patience. I must have patience.
Cheers Chris

I was the successful buyer of those panels, and with an exchange of emails the purchase went very smoothly, And it also gave us the opportuniyt to meet David and Jenny more grey nomads, who were new on the road

As one may expect when one leads a vigourous hands on life and one moves house after 30 or so years one accumulates heaps of stuff that one has for sale. This includes a selection of Stanley planes including the very sought after 13 - 050 10 blade plough plane, wood carving chisels  (handy if you ever have the need to recarve fascias for old clocks) heaps of hand tools that though of sentimental value I will never need or have room for.
If anyone has a need for anything in particular either email or pm and we will see what we can do.....
I'm keeping my machinery at this stage, I'll cull that when I have found a new house if need be....
