Have finally got our home on the market http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin/rsearch?a=o&id=105779331&f=0&p=10&t=res&ty=&fmt=&header=&cc=&c=86815325&s=sa&tm=1243501388. Could be some time before it goes as being on a residential park buyer has to have funds up front or a guaranteed loan. However, this is giving us heaps of time to look at different caravans. At present we are considering a Concept Randwick or Ascot 20-21.6" possibly the X-Pack version. Does anyone out there have experience with these vans. If so would love to hear your comments as our final choice will be our permanent home. Enjoy the good mix of knowledge and bull**** on the forum. Love 'Granny's' down-to-earth comments - get well soon.
Hi and welcome to the forum. don't have any knowledge of the caravans you are considering, but i'm sure that you will receive some feedback. What type of vehicle will you be towing with? Good luck with the sale of your home. A friend just left here, 2 minutes ago, all excited as their home was sold last night. A good omen for you.

Hi John, thanks for reply. Will be using our Terracan 2.9CRDi which in Aussie is rated at 2.5 Tons towing capacity but in UK is 2.8 and Sth. Africa 3.0. Returns about 12.63 L/100Ks pulling a 20' 2 ton van.
Well, thanks for the thoughts you Recycled Teenagers. Welcome to Grey Nomads. There's actually nothing wrong with me, the doctors just keep finding stuff.
What is recommended for towing is not always the best advice. I have always looked at power to weight ratio, for towing and stopping. The roads are not always flat, straight and smooth where we go. Power to pull up the hill, and power to go down the hill ie stopping and slowing power. Will the vehicle be heavy or strong enough to stop your van passing you on the inside of a bend on the down side of the hill you've managed to tow up? I don't know about the van brand either. Be careful, do your homework, don't take too much notice of the salesman. The internet has endless advice, recommendations and van specifications - all you have to do is Google. It's your life and your money. All the best with your choice and your travels. Cheers Chris

Thanks for your comments. Have done heaps of research and today found some good info on the 4 x 4 Terracan site. One guy had just toured from Sydney to WA pulling a 24' 2.5 Ton tare van (way over the legal limit for the tow vehicle) and (idiot) sat on 100k/h in cruise most of the time! Also found a forum that had very positive info on concept vans, no-one seems to experience any problems with them so will probably stick with them.
