In recent times, there has been a high number of links added to posts. I for one, rarely use a link, for security reasons.
Any site can become infected, as those that have been here long enough, will know about the ad banners that got into this site
While it is normally not an issue, it could be
In the highly unlikely event of a infected link, the worst case senario, all on here get infected, the poster gets heaps, and we cannot use our computers till repaired.
I suggest, if you have seen information elsewhere, that you summarise the relavent points of the link instead of just posting the link. This will allow us to decide whether we wish to get more information, may save download allowance, and keeps the information within the topic.
I'm inclined to say "what a lot of frog poo" but I don't think I will. C'mon guys lets be realistic about this, IF YOU ARE NOT USING AN ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM YOU ARE INSANER THAN I AM!!!!!! Sure viruses spread around the net this way but they can be spread by somone coming directly from an infected site to the forum without shutting down their browser first, and remember it's not only porn sites that are infected. And those frigging popups have nothing to do with it.
You guys are deliberatley winding me up arn't you, strewth you had me going for a minute!!!

My view is that all forums I have been on including Caravan etc forums encourage the use of links on posts as they do not clog up the site with lenghty posts. Bear in mind if the links come from a reputable source they have been through a series of anti virus/spam etc on their systems in the first place to be posted on those sites. Nobody forces anyone to open a link, if you are worried about it then just don't open the link. (same applies to posts, if you don't like the subject then nobody forces you to read it).
Also, other sites (including media) do not mind you using their material as long as they are acknowledged as the source, and a link is one way of doing this and an acceptable form on all forums.
