Finally getting away

Next Monday we head off after six months of planning and problems (see my previous post on A frustrating journey). I'm finally allowing myself to get a bit excited  as I must admit I'd become cynical about going anywhere as our bank acc dwindled with seemingly never-ending financial obstacles.

We changed our travel plans, instead of going via Bathurst/Sydney, we are going up the centre of NSW and plan to stay at Parkes, Coonabarabran & Goondiwindi and hit the coast near Nerang.

Looking forward to meeting KenMarg as they have kindly offered their driveway for us to park for a day or two. Marg. comes from our home town (Albury) and we plan to pick their brain, to find the best places to visit in Queensland...so we'll have lots to chat about.

Our maltese cross is already aware that something is 'afoot' and has been watching us like a hawk, funny how sensitive animals can be about changes.

Can't wait to feel (and smell) the warm ocean breeze as its been cold and wet here for weeks, cheers Sue

ah! Sue the journey and "life" begins, nothing like the building exitement of an anticipated journey, dont worry about the bank balance too much just free camp a bit and the dough you save will get you through

dogs always know when you are about to take off, ours go spare when we pack the camper, they know they are going to be left in the care of someone else

may I say thanks to Ken and Marg for that offer, well done,

I might add that most of us already do this but I would just like to publicly thank them for their offer

Hi Sue&K ,just done the same trip as you and at the moment we are in Casino New South Wales which is about 2 hours from Nerang.Weather is mostly great during the day although a little cold at night.(it is the middle of winter though). Not sure if you are set up for free camping or are going to use parks. There is a really great park in Forbes called the Country Club caravan park (great friendly owners and wonderful amenities). The caravan park that we stayed in at Coonarbarabran was terrible $25 a night and was filthy . We should have free camped suggest you check it out first. We then went on to Moree and the park there was good but stack them in like Sardines. We are now staying at Casino RV resort village. Is wonderful and have been here since the 20th May. Not sure what our plans are Looking for work as yes the funds soon go and we are very careful but we will survive. Everyone wants their bit LOL.Are you taking your little dog with you?We bought our 14 year old black Lab with us and most parks allow dogs. If you decide to stay in Casino on your way to nerang seek us out and we will have a drink together Happy safe Travels,
Chris and Robbie

Good on ya Sue and K
By being persistant and careful you will now achieve your dream,
For the life of me I cannot understand your travel direction, heading north, yes definatly, but then turning to the east, to me is madness,
dont expect it to be too warm where you are heading, its still winter up here also,
Although its all relative to what you are used
If you decide to come anywhere near Emerald ( the one in Qld) stop in for a drink, hot or cold
