I tuned into a TV channel news on Thursday night in which they were saying the WA Government was looking into allowing touring RV's to park on WA Crown Land due to the lack of enough caravan park availability in WA, a lot of this shortage being caused by caravan parks being sold off to developers and the increase in caravan touring. Unfortunately I missed some of this before I tuned in.
Has anyone else seen/heard anything about this?

It's about time they did something useful with OUR lands. Here in NSW you are not permitted to do anything on crown land apart from drive through it to some other spot other than crown land .
Had a boat mooring on a MSB site in the Hastings River and the road to it and the turning bay at the river bank was Crown Land. While cutting out a new engine noise absorption cowl on the bank the coppers (think someone rang them) turned up and informed me that I was in breach of section XXXXYYYZZZ of the Commonwealth Lands act 1901 and was not permitted to carry out any form of work on what is declared Crown Lands.
There are a lot of tracks and unmade roads in NSW which are actually Crown Lands and as such by law you can drive on them but not stop even for a cuppa . A lot of property owners try to claim the land is theirs and keep you out

a lot of land becomes "crown" lands by default and other land gets "lost" in interpretation some station owners think because they have been using "our" land for millenia then it belongs to them
high country cattle graziers fought for "their" land which in fact is crown land proclaimed as national park and as such no feral animals or grazers are allowed in there and the graziers are not allowed to be there either but they are there simply because of time and beligerence
a lot of the old stock routes are now fenced in on both sides and it is everybodys god given right to traverse these all over australia but it is now ilegally stopped
the government peanuts forget who they work for and also who actaully owns the damn land, it is not cantberra and it is not local government either, it is yours and mine
so when some little needle nosed, pencil pushing, paper shuffling little dork states that he is going to "give it back to the people" he is the mongrel that took it in the first place
Yes it does confuse the uneducated and gullible. Most pastoral country is Crown Land which is leased to the grazier. There is very little freehold land out back, and the government of each state is now reclaiming some of those leases and removing all stock to return the land to it's original condition. Other stations have been returned to the Aboriginal traditional occupiers (they never owned anything) to run cattle stations. Unfortunatley all they ever do is run everything DOWN! The bores, windmills, fences and other infrastructure, roads and the poor cattle which are neglected. Dave, soap box please? Cheers Chris
