If your out this way touring through the wheatbelt.... you can put your feet up for a couple of days on the farm for free! The wild flowers and wildlife are nice here in spring. So long as the open spaces don't frighten you its magic.
mate if only we had more time, just a short one this time, one week, and we couldnt get anywhere near you in that time, great pic's though, reminds me of "wave rock"
Memories of my travels south from Broome in 07 when I began my full time travels. The country was covered in a carpet of yellow, pink or cream everywhere, with grevilleas, and many other wildflowers in full bloom at the time. It certainly is a wonder to behold and anyone who hasn't experienced it, well, you should. From Onslow south from late July all the way around the bottom to Esperance is in flower. Enjoy. Cheers Chris

Just looking at the map, I see a couple of rocks near there, Bonnie Rock and Darjing? Rock (couldn't read the print). Nice bit of country out that way, in the early 60's I helped dismantle the power poles and cables at the old Army camp at Nungarin, transporting them to Perth on a low loader.
Before that I worked with a bloke who had worked at Mukinbudin humping wheat bags, we called him the "Mukinbudin Kid" he was built like Big Arnie and we all reckoned he had muscles in his.....errr.....poo, because he had muscles everywhere else.
My grandfather had a farm at Bruce Rock area at one time and my father and his brothers worked on it.
hi andrew. great looking spot, margaret and i hope to be over there in the autumn of 2010,and we would love to call in. and bend the elbow and say good day. if you are ever over our way in brisbane, just give us a hoy we have plenty of beds, and you would be very welcome.
Small world Redtails. i'm in Mt Magnet area. Stayed at Mullewa for a bit but will be property-sitting for a month in "Bindi Bindi" south of Dalwallinu starting next week. Just one dog, three cats, some chooks, a garden and 2000 sheep. Are you anywhere nearby? Sue

Thanks for the feedback Andrew, I guessed it was as did Rolly, hope you're getting a bit of the rain. I was in Goomalling for 5 days a couple of weeks ago, not much rain for the farmers but for tourist the weather was sunny everyday, also visited Dowerin and surrounds, it was fine but there was a bit of water laying around in the backblocks so they must have had recent showers.
Vic

Andrew, are there any flowers out yet with the recent rains on the coast (don't know if you got any) or have you an idea when you think the majority of wildflowers in your area may start this year? I know they can be a bit out of whack some seasons depending on the rainful.
Thanks Vic
