yep 33 and fires on the south east of qld, as you say brass monkeys chasing oxy torches down south

still very little rain here though, storm expected to stay south of us, normally stops raining just on our speed limits, dust hasnt settled since last summer

we had 32 drops here last week, I think I caught them all

Well Dave, if it's stinking hot on our way to WA late Dec. hope you save some of those 32 drops in case we need to top up before we cross the plain with no trees!!

I froze them just so I can go to the freezer and remember what rain once looked like

you'll be right going across the nully, doesnt take long LOL!

great trip ahead, just enjoy it she'll be apples, we've done it many times in all sorts of weather and all sorts of vehicles including a blitzwagon/motorhome in summer and no side windows only canvas, wouldnt miss doing it again for quids, I'd go this arvo if I could

it's one of the "great trips" that all nomads should make at least twice, it's tottaly different coming back than when you remember it going over, speccy either way

peice of cake nowadays with high speed vehicles, our old blitz had her tongue hanging out at 80 kph, no air con and rock hard suspension

wind gusts up to 89klms an hour last night.  The whole house felt like it was going to take off.  Minimal damage at our place  this morning. Haven't looked around the rest of the village yet though
