That was a very sad story mate, the F3 is a shocker, was never made big enough to cope with traffic.

this is a very poorly thought out trafic location.     if you didn't know the road,or was having problems with your car,    and you thought that this was the emergency stopping lane.     its the entrance lane to the mt white weighbridge.        there is a very small neon sign to tell the truck driver that the bridge is open.        from where the neon sign is you cant see the weighbrige, you are on uphill climb on a sweeping left handed corner.   as you come to the first pressure pad, there is a sign to put out your headlights.        i am just wondering if these cars, are in the truck lane with no lights on,and the truck driver is in the truck lane, and he has put out his headlights.      the r.t.a transport inspectors do make life very difficult,if you drive onto this site with your headlights on.

What a dreadful tragedy on our roads, again.
It seems the family car was stationary when the B Double hit it from the rear, and the other vehicle was also somehow involved, according to the Police on tonight's news.
I don't think the truck driver was at fault, and apparently his shock is so severe he can't be questioned yet.
Who knows what happens on these road, and as you all agree these motorways are not capable of doing what they were built to do.
I guess the circumstances of the accident will become clear when the truckie gives a statement.
It seems no matter how careful we may be, some other bugger can bring us undone.
Or some granny in a Landcruiser can slam into the rear of a little red car without warning.
It only takes a split second to change everything. Let's all stay as vigilant was we can and enjoy safe travels. Cheers Chris

I've made a comment elsewhere on this site regarding poor signage on the new Townsville bypass but those comments are relevent to many other places throughout Australia. I've driven quite few thousand miles in USA over the years and one thing I've noticed is how much better and clearer the signage is. This is further helped by the fact that Americans are by and large better and more courteous drivers than we are and will leave sufficient space for those wishing to change lanes.
